In Central Sterile Services Departments (CSSD), workflow organization is a key factor in ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with procedures. A clear separation between clean and dirty areas is not just best practice – it is an operational and regulatory necessity.
Within this context, the AT-OS pass-through window fits in as a solution designed to simplify and secure the transfer of trolleys between different areas of the CSSD.
A pass-through window is a through-wall opening that allows trolleys to be transferred from the clean area to the dirty area, enabling their return for reloading with items to be washed.
It is a fixed element, integrated into the CSSD architecture, that helps maintain separation of pathways and reduces the risk of cross-contamination.

The AT-OS pass-through window has been developed to be fully compatible with the washer-disinfector models AWD655-10 and AWD655-15 and their corresponding trolleys, ensuring seamless integration into the washing and reprocessing workflow.
Depending on the washer-disinfector model, the pass-through window is identified as follows:
AP1-10 / AP2-10 for AWD655-10
AP1-15 / AP2-15 for AWD655-15
The pass-through window is available in two configurations, designed to meet different organizational and safety requirements.
The AP1 version is equipped with a single door and allows trolley transfer while ensuring operational control and flexibility.
Manual opening enables not only trolley transfer but also the passage of other materials, offering greater control during loading operations.

The AP2 model features two opposing doors and provides a higher level of safety.
The doors cannot be opened simultaneously. The controlled sequence requires that:
1- one door is opened,
2- the cart is loaded or unloaded,
3- the door is closed,
4- only then can the second door be opened.
This system ensures physical and functional separation between areas, further reducing the risk of operational errors or contaminatio

Automatic opening is available exclusively for AT-OS carts when the pass-through window is combined with the loading/unloading system.
Alternatively, manual opening provides greater operational versatility, allowing the transfer of materials other than carts and offering direct control during use.
The pass-through window is not just an architectural element, but a functional tool that contributes to the overall efficiency of the sterilization department.
When properly integrated into the CSSD layout, it helps optimize workflows, enhance safety, and streamline daily operations.
Together with washer-disinfectors, loading/unloading systems, and the E-box, the AT-OS pass-through window becomes an integral part of a system designed to meet the real operational needs of modern sterilization departments.
